| What is We've Met? |
We've Met is a revolutionary dating system designed to help two people who have already met a second chance at connecting after a missed opportunity. Unlike other "missed connections" websites, We've Met's extensive singles database and patent-pending wish list system really works! Our goal is simply to unite people who have already met and have some interest in each other, but were unable to connect at that moment. Because we match up people who have already had some encounter with each other, We've Met increases not just the quantity, but also the quality of your dates.

How Does We've Met Work? |
Members create a "wish list" of people they've met and would be interested in dating or meeting again. Wish lists can be created by viewing event guest lists, Hotspots member lists, or by searching for a specific person by submitting a name or other identifying information through our extensive and powerful People Meeter system. Members have the option of openly or secretly wish listing one another.

What is an Open Wish? |
If you openly wish list another member, your name will appear on their "who's openly wish listed you" page along with any message you choose to send them. That member can then create a match, send you a message, or decline the match. |
Example: If Bob openly wish lists Lisa, Bob's name will be viewable by Lisa on her "who's openly wish listed you" page along with the "I've always liked you..." message Bob sent to Lisa. Lisa can decide to create a matched wish or decline the wish by clicking on the appropriate link next to Bob's name. Lisa may also decide to send Bob a message.

What is a Secret Wish? |
If you secretly wish list another member, your name will never appear on the other member's wish list page unless they have also wish listed you. However, you may choose to send a completely anonymous note to this member. The person you've secretly wish listed may also send you notes to try and determine who you are-- but you are at liberty to disclose as little (or as much) as you feel comfortable with. |
Example: If Bob secretly wish lists Lisa, Bob's name will be not be viewable by Lisa. However, Lisa will see the "I met you at David's going away party" message that Bob anonymously sent to her. Lisa may send a note to Bob (not knowing it is Bob, of course), saying, "Were you the guy in the Red shirt drinking the Corrona? Bob may respond (or not respond) any way he wishes.

Can I Wish List Non-Members? |
Yes. Many people who are not members of We've Met can still be wish listed if you have their e-mail address or if you find them on a party guest list. If you wish list a non-member, they will receive an e-mail saying that "somebody" on We've Met has wish listed them, and encouraging them to register on the system and find out who it is. You will be notified when anyone you secretly wish list becomes a member, and, of course, when they wish list you. |
Example: Michelle meets Jerry at a New Year's party created on We've Met. Frustrated at not having taken a more pro-active approach at the party, Michelle checks the party invitation list, clicks on Jerry's name and selects "add to my open wish list." Even if Jerry is not a member of We've Met, he will receive an email indicating that someone at the New Year's party he was at is interested in him! He will be encouraged to register with We've Met, and when he does, he will be able to create an instant match with Michelle!

Can I Wish List Anyone on an Event or Party List? |
Yes, as long as you have access to view an event, you can view the event details and invitation list and click on the name of anyone on the list to view their profile to decide whether to wish list them. You can search for any "public" events and parties and wish list anyone on these lists. If an event is private (i.e., limited to those on the invitation list), you can view this event only by clicking on a link from your private e-invitation.

How Do I Create an Event? |
Creating an event on We've Met is both easy and fun. You decide whether you would like a public event that is searchable by any We've Met member, or whether you'd like a private gathering that can only be accessed by the people you invite. The type of events you can create are endless-- birthday parties, formal events, dinners, brunches, religious functions, singles events, etc. The best part is that anyone on your guest list can easily wish list anyone they meet at your event and create a matched wish! We've Met does not allow posting SPAM, commercial material, advertisements or commercial events or functions. You can report events violating our policy to support@wevemet.com.

What are Hotspots? |
If you've met someone you liked at your school, your workplace, a bar, club, cafe, healthclub, religious institution or any other location, you can search our enormous database of Hotspots to find this person, view their profile, and add them to your wish list! And don't forget to add yourself to the Hotspots where you hang out to greatly increase your chances of being wish listed if someone sees you there! If we don't already have it, you can also add your own Hotspots to our growing database. |
Example: Jessica works in the same office as Zach and sees him in the cafeteria every day. Jessica has always had a crush on Zach but is worried about revealing her feelings because of the embarrassment of continuing to see him every day if he was not interested. Jessica can view her company's Hotspot list, finds Zach's name and add him to her secret wish list! If Zach wish lists Jessica, she will have a very exciting matched wish. If Zach does not wish list Jessica, Jessica can still feel secure that her crush has not been revealed and knowing that she can at any time move Zach to her open wish list if she chooses to take "the plunge".

Why Should I Register for We've Met? |
The real question is why wouldn't you sign up? Even if you currently can't think of anybody to wish list, that could change the moment you walk out your door today! And don't you want to know who is interested in you? Give that cute guy or girl at the party or at locations you frequent the ability to easily notify you of their interest after meeting you! Otherwise, you may never know...
The only way to find out who has wish listed you is by being on We've Met! Our service is completely FREE and unlike other dating websites, we don't require overly detailed, personally-probing profiles. Member profiles are very basic and are designed solely to help people identify the ones they would like to connect with. Your contact information is always kept in the strictest of confidences and is only given to members you have matched wishes with. If you are single, there is truly no reason not to be on We've Met! Shouldn't you give yourself every opportunity to find out who is interested in you?

Can I Register for We've Met's Service if I am Not Single? |
Yes! We have special memberships for non-singles which allows such users to use our event creator and Hotspots system, but blocks these members from wish listing or being wish listed. This way, even non-singles can have events with singles where people they invite can wish list one another. To register as a non-single, simply go to the "Become a Member" page, indicate that you are not single, and check the box entitled "Disable wish lists".
