Dear Hopeful Singles, |
It's happened to all of us. The brief encounter at a party that you didn't act upon. That person in the elevator whose floor came and went before you could even catch your breath. That stunning co-worker who you see too often to take the risk on asking out. These can be some of the most frustrating and helpless situations for singles trying to find their match. Squandered opportunities. Wasted chances. Missed connections. |
The "Missed Connection" Problem |
About a year ago, I found myself browsing a very intriguing category of websites called "Missed connections." These sites interested me because they sought to fill a very important and un-addressed need-- helping people with a potential mutual interest, who have already met but could not connect, get together. Unfortunately, these sites were nothing more than message boards consisting of hopeful shot-in-the-dark messages like, "hey, I'm the 5'9" brown haired guy who smiled at you last Thursday on line at Starbucks." What a wonderful thing it would be, I thought, if such a message would actually help two people connect. But the truth is that these websites, while very cute, just don't work. The odds of the person you seek first seeing, and then actually responding to your message are slim to none. |

| I was determined to create a system that actually worked. |

How We Began |
I wondered how to make a website that was more then just a message board with a million-to-one shot at connecting with the person you've met. How could we really help people get the one who got away? So I put together a team of brilliantly creative people who were intimately familiar with the missed connection problems-- my single friends. We brainstormed. We researched. |
But mostly, we simply asked singles, just like you, about the frustrating experience of fleeting encounters of attraction where there was a failure to connect at the brief moment of opportunity. |
We listened to many frustrating (and some heartbreaking) stories: |
- men expressing regret at not asking for a number at a party,
- people with crushes on officemates bemoaning the risk of verbalizing their feelings
- people experiencing encounters at cafes, health clubs, restaurants, and many other places where the opportunity was simply too fleeting or uncomfortable to take action
One woman fought tears as she began to speak about her life-long best friend: "I've recently realized that I have romantic feelings for him, and I think he may be feeling the same, but I just can't risk losing the friendship."
We took all the stories, frustrations, and "coulda beens," to heart and put our collective noses to the grindstone. And after a year of brainstorming, research and development, We've Met was born-- the most revolutionary and effective service in online dating. So unique and effective is our "wish list" meeting system, that we have obtained a patent-pending on the process. And it's all yours to use completely free of charge. Our goal is the same as yours-- helping you get the one who got away. Getting you a second chance at a first impression! How can you make it work for you? Read on.

How it Works |
| 1. Create a wish list of people you like! |
This is the platform of the We've Met system. Your wish list is a powerful, fun and effective way to connect with people you know or have already met. You decide whether to openly or secretly add people to your wish list. If they wish list you too, a matched wish is created!
| 2. Choose whether to openly or secretly wish list the people you like. |
A. Your Secret Wish List- your interest will be revealed to this person only when they wish list you too-- your interest is kept completely confidential and there is no rejection! You can even send anonymous messages to help "tip-off" your wish to wish list you too!
B. Your Open Wish List- be a bit more daring and your wish will be revealed to this person immediately, greatly increasing your chances at a matched wish! You can also send and receive messages from anyone on your open wish list!
3. How to wish list the people you like: |
We've Met provides several powerful ways to build your wish list using its revolutionary People Meeter, Parties and Hotspots functions. You don't even need contact information to find and connect with the people you've encountered and like:
A. People Meeter |
If you are wish listing a friend, submitting their name and/or e-mail address may be the easiest way to wish list somebody. But even if you have a bare minimal of information (a partial name, basic physical characteristics, etc...) about the person you'd like to connect with, We've Met's powerful People Meeter search function can help you find who you are looking for using various criteria you may have never thought of! Or, you may find it easier to find your wish from a Hotspot or party where you met them!
B. Events and Parties |
You can create any type of event and invite people via e-invitation to view your event details and invitation list. We've Met also allows you to search for events and parties on our system, view details and invite lists of these events, and click on any guests name to add them to your open or secret wish list! No more regrets about that person you met at the party who's number you didn't get! Simply find the party or event on We've Met, and wish list them!
C. Hotspots |
If you've met someone you liked at a school, your workplace, a bar, club, cafe, healthclub, religious institution or any other location, you can search our enormous database of Hotspots to find this person and add them to your wish list! And don't forget to add yourself to the Hotspots where you hang out to greatly increase your chances of being wish listed if someone sees you there!
